Tomato - Damping-off

Management options by Alan Walters (ISU): Do not germinate tomato seed in plastic trays containing field soil and is best to use pasteurized soil mix of some sort if possible. Also, the use of a fungicide drench in seed trays is an effective method to combat this disease Avoid planting seed in transplant beds or in plastic trays when soil is cool (< 70oF), since seed germinate at a faster rate and develop faster when soil is warm Excessive watering, especially of low poorly drained areas of field, should be avoided if possible
