Major Agricultural Activities
Panjshir is famous for mulberries and precious stones, such as lazuli. Other important crops include wheat , maize, walnuts, apple, apricot, grapes, and potatoes. Local farmers raise cows, sheep, goats, and chickens in almost all of the districts and produce many dairy and poultry products.
Potential Development Themes
Potential areas for development include animal husbandry, improving pasture productivity, value adding (product processing), post-harvest technology, and irrigation system improvement along the Panjshir River.
